I’m Abbie Rose, a queer mama to a sunshiney toddler, and birth and family photographer based in British Columbia, Canada. I’m the oldest sister to ten kiddos and grew up a homeschooled hippie!
On any given day, you can find me snuggling my one year-old, drinking tea(or catching up on emails) while she plays, or wandering around downtown trying to catch a nap on-the-go.
I own about 600 books and almost as many types of tea, but I end up reading the same book over and over and drinking the same decaf tea day in and day out. I love travelling but always come back to my hometown. My best buds are herbs, essential oils, and all things natural living – but believe it or not I have absolutely no gardening skills…I’ve killed a cactus or two in my time. I adore all things attachment parenting and hope to wildschool Flo when she’s old enough. Food is my true love. One of my favourite parts of travelling (and life itself) is checking out new cafes, restaurants, and local delicacies. I am an empath and highly sensitive person, an INFJ, 2w3, and yellow/blue for all my fellow personality quiz nerds out there! I’m also neurodivergent. My emotions are wild and deep, and that inspires my photography style in a giant way.
Speaking of photography! I will ALWAYS choose an emotional photo over an immaculate one. I believe in connection over perfection, in telling your stories as they come and happen, in creating a comfortable place for you to be yourselves and to celebrate these ever so messy years. These moments will be embalmed forever, photographs found in dusty attics and on cracked walls. Not only will you remember what happened, but how it made you feel.
I feel very deeply, always, and fight to stay soft through what life brings to me. My greatest ambition is to love as many people on this earth as I can until the day I die, and the fire that drives me is peace, equality, and safety for every life. There is so much beauty in the rawness of the world.
I'm an open book - please feel free to email me if you have any questions about your shoot or costs.
ABOUT MY PRICING
One of the most valuable gifts you can give yourself and your children is the gift of photos. These are family heirlooms, and what can make them even more valuable is when the photos truly capture the emotion and love you share.
Because I believe so much in their value, I offer different packages and payment plans. I have been in different financial situations throughout my life and want other parents to have different options for the investment but the same amazing photos.
